Master of Nursing Science (MSN)

As health care grows increasingly complex, the necessity for highly educated nurses to coordinate and deliver better nursing care has never been greater. Graduate nursing education can be generalist-based (like the Clinical Nurse Leader) or specialty-based to prepare nurses for advanced practice.
Many of UVA’s graduate nursing programs are ranked in the top twenty in the nation. These programs draw upon the academic excellence of the University of Virginia, the clinical strengths of the UVA Medical Center (a 580-bed Level I trauma center and ranked Virginia's #1 hospital) and the University’s commitment to serve the needs of citizens of Virginia and the world.
